Studies and Curriculum

The educational framework outlined for Loyola School is comprehensive and reflects a commitment to holistic development while honouring Indian traditions and educational standards. Here's a breakdown of some key points:

  1. Curriculum: The curriculum spans from Kindergarten to Std XII, however, the 1st academic year will see the opening of classes Kindergarten to 2 and class 6. The school aims to be aligned with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations. It covers a wide range of subjects including English, History, Geography, Civics, Mathematics, Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Computer Science, as well as Value Education and Environmental Studies.

  2. Medium of Instruction: English is the primary medium of instruction, emphasizing the importance of proficiency in the language for success in CBSE examinations. However, Hindi and Oriya are also integral parts of the curriculum and are taught daily, reflecting the school's commitment to multilingualism and Indian cultural heritage.

  3. Cultural and Value-based Education: Loyola School incorporates religious instruction as Catechism (for Christians), value education and Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) into its curriculum. This approach aims to instil ethical values, social responsibility, and a sense of community service among students.

  4. Parental Involvement: Parents are encouraged to support their children's education by speaking English at home and actively participating in their academic journey. This collaborative approach between parents and educators enhances the learning experience and reinforces the importance of English language proficiency.

  5. Discouragement of Private Tuition: The school discourages private tuition for its students, emphasizing the belief that regular attendance, active participation in class, completion of classwork, and revision are sufficient for academic progress. This stance promotes self-reliance, independent learning, and a focus on utilizing classroom instruction effectively.

Overall, Loyola School's educational approach is well-rounded, aiming to develop students academically, culturally, and ethically, while also fostering a strong sense of community and responsibility.
